Jayati Sinha
“A woman should be able to start, restart, diversify and build at any stage of her life.”
Jayati Sinha is the Founder of the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of Emerging India (CWEEI) and a serial entrepreneur with over two decades of experience across diverse industries, sectors, and domestic and international markets. She is also a mentor and educator, with a strong focus on enterprise readiness, access to finance, start-up mentoring, entrepreneurship education, and institutional engagement, helping aspiring and emerging entrepreneurs strengthen their capabilities and move from idea to sustainable enterprise.
Her entrepreneurial journey is also a story of reinvention. After stepping away from professional life to prioritise family and motherhood responsibilities, she returned after a significant break and began rebuilding her professional journey. Over time, she went on to establish and participate in businesses across different sectors and markets.
This experience of starting again, entering unfamiliar industries and operating across varied business environments has strongly influenced her work with CWEEI. It underpins her belief that women should have the opportunity to start, restart, diversify and build enterprises at any stage of life.
Entrepreneurial Journey
Jayati's entrepreneurial experience spans multiple businesses across different industries and sectors, rather than being limited to a single domain.
Her journey has required her to continuously understand new markets, customer segments, operating models, partnerships, commercial environments and business challenges.
She has experience working in both domestic and international markets, giving her exposure to different business cultures, customer expectations, partnership structures and market dynamics.
This cross-sector and cross-market experience has contributed to her practical understanding of:
- Business creation and development
- Entering new industries and sectors
- Building partnerships
- Understanding different customer segments
- Adapting to changing market environments
- Identifying new business opportunities
- Operating across domestic and international markets
- Building professional and institutional networks
- Restarting and reinventing across different stages of life
Jayati sees entrepreneurship not as a single career path, but as a process of continuous learning, adaptation, reinvention and opportunity creation.
Starting Again After Motherhood
An important part of Jayati's journey is her return to professional and entrepreneurial life after stepping away to focus on family and motherhood.
Her experience shaped her understanding of the challenges women may face when they seek to restart after a career break, years of family responsibilities or a long absence from the formal workforce.
It also reinforced her belief that opportunity should not be limited by age, background, previous profession or the stage of life at which a woman chooses to begin again.
For Jayati, entrepreneurship can become a meaningful pathway for women who are:
- Starting for the first time
- Returning after a career break
- Restarting after family responsibilities
- Moving from employment into entrepreneurship
- Converting skills into livelihood opportunities
- Expanding a small activity into a sustainable enterprise
- Exploring entrepreneurship later in life
This personal experience gives an important foundation to her work with CWEEI.
Why CWEEI
Jayati founded the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of Emerging India (CWEEI) with the objective of contributing to a stronger and more accessible ecosystem for women entrepreneurship in India.
CWEEI is a Section 8 organisation focused on advancing women entrepreneurship, economic participation, financial inclusion and enterprise development.
The organisation seeks to connect women with the support systems they may need to build and grow enterprises, including:
Knowledge | Mentorship | Finance | Markets | Networks | Technology | Institutions | Enterprise Opportunities
Jayati's approach is based on the belief that women empowerment should progress beyond awareness and training towards economic participation, financial independence, entrepreneurship, market access and leadership.
Vision
Jayati envisions an India where a woman's ability to become an entrepreneur is not determined by her geography, financial background, age, family circumstances, previous profession or access to established networks.
Through CWEEI, she seeks to support an ecosystem in which women can move from:
- Skills to sustainable livelihoods
- Livelihoods to entrepreneurship
- Aspiration to enterprise creation
- Financial exclusion to financial participation
- Local businesses to larger markets
- Career breaks to new beginnings
- Participation to leadership
A central focus of this vision is ensuring that women across India have greater access to entrepreneurship opportunities, irrespective of geography, background or existing networks.
Working With Existing Organisations
Jayati believes that meaningful impact does not always require creating parallel structures.
CWEEI therefore seeks to work alongside NGOs, grassroots organisations, institutions and community groups that are already doing meaningful work for women.
The objective is to strengthen existing efforts by helping create connections, wherever possible, with broader networks, mentors, markets, institutions, financial resources, corporate participation and entrepreneurship opportunities.
This approach reflects a clear philosophy:
Bridge gaps. Strengthen existing work. Avoid unnecessary duplication.

Creativity remains an important part of her personal expression and worldview.
She sees creativity and entrepreneurship as closely connected, as both require the ability to imagine possibilities, approach problems differently, work with available resources and create something meaningful.
Community and Institutional Engagement
Jayati engages with entrepreneurs, NGOs, institutions, community organisations, government representatives, industry stakeholders and individuals working towards women's economic and social advancement.
Through these interactions, she seeks to understand grassroots realities, learn from organisations already creating impact and identify ways in which CWEEI can help connect local capabilities with broader opportunities.
Her engagement philosophy emphasises learning, collaboration, partnerships and ecosystem building.

Our Team
Aarohinis – Our Ground-Level Changemakers
At CWEEI, we believe that meaningful change begins at the grassroots. Our Aarohinis are the dedicated ground-level workers who connect our programmes and initiatives with communities. Working closely with people at the local level, they help us understand community needs, build trust, spread awareness, and support the implementation of our work.
Aarohinis are an important link between CWEEI and the communities we serve. Through their regular engagement, they encourage participation, facilitate access to information and opportunities, and contribute to creating stronger, more aware, and empowered communities.
Their commitment, empathy, and understanding of local realities make them an essential part of the CWEEI team.
Meet Sangeeta Rajendra Kamble – An Aarohini with CWEEI
Sangeeta is one of the Aarohinis working with CWEEI. As a ground-level team member, she works directly with communities and plays an important role in taking CWEEI's initiatives to the people.
Through her day-to-day engagement, Sangeeta supports community members, listens to their concerns, helps connect them with relevant programmes and resources, and encourages them to participate in activities that can contribute to their development.
Her work reflects the spirit of an Aarohini — being present in the community, listening with empathy, building relationships, and helping turn opportunities into meaningful action.
At CWEEI, Aarohinis like Sangeeta are not just team members; they are the people who carry our work to the ground and help us build lasting connections with the communities we work with.
