District Investment Summit 2026

Jayati Sinha, Founder of the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of Emerging India (CWEEI), was invited to attend the District Investment Summit 2026 – Palghar, held on 21 August 2026. During the programme, she was given an opportunity to present her views on the Summit and share her perspective on strengthening the link between skill development, entrepreneurship, market access and sustainable economic opportunities.
She drew encouragement from the insightful guidance and vision shared by Shri Ganesh Naik, Hon’ble Minister (Forests), Government of Maharashtra and Guardian Minister, Palghar, particularly his emphasis on supporting industry, encouraging investment, creating employment opportunities and enabling sustainable economic growth.
She admired the leadership and continued efforts of Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Palghar, and the district administration’s focused approach towards strengthening Palghar’s investment and enterprise ecosystem. The development roadmap presented for the district and the emphasis on bringing together government, industry, investors, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders reflected a strong and forward-looking approach to local economic development.
Jayati Sinha also valued the significant efforts being undertaken by the District Industries Centre (DIC), Palghar, MAITRI, Skill Development Department and other participating government departments and institutions in promoting investment, skill development, employment generation and entrepreneurship.
While presenting her views at the Summit, she highlighted an important last-mile gap between the completion of training and skill-development programmes and the ability of beneficiaries to convert those skills into sustainable livelihoods or viable enterprises.
She observed that government departments and institutions are already undertaking substantial efforts in training, capacity building, employability and entrepreneurship development. However, after acquiring skills, many beneficiaries—particularly women—may require continued support to move towards sustainable enterprise through digital visibility, access to markets, branding, technology adoption, financial awareness, mentorship, business networks and linkages with commercial opportunities.
She shared that CWEEI seeks to complement, rather than duplicate, the work already being undertaken by government departments and institutions. CWEEI can help strengthen the next stage of the journey by connecting trained and skilled women with relevant markets, networks, knowledge, technology, mentorship and business opportunities.
The pathway, she emphasized, needs to become increasingly seamless:
Training → Skills → Enterprise → Market Access → Sustainable Income & Growth
CWEEI looks forward to opportunities to work alongside government departments, institutions, industry and ecosystem partners so that the valuable skills and capabilities being created through various initiatives can translate into stronger livelihoods, sustainable women-led enterprises and greater economic participation.
“Skills alone are not the destination. When connected to markets, mentorship and opportunity, they become sustainable enterprises.”— Jayati Sinha
