Message from the Founder

The Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of Emerging India (CWEEI) was founded with a simple but powerful belief: when women are given the right knowledge, opportunities, financial inclusion, markets, networks and a collective voice, they can transform not only their own lives, but also their families and generations, communities and the economy as a whole.

Across India, especially beyond the metros, there are millions of women with skills, ideas, ambition and entrepreneurial potential. Yet many continue to face barriers such as limited or no knowledge of Government Initiatives such as special packages, loan facilities, grants, support system and more, limited access to finance, lack of market exposure, insufficient mentorship, weak business networks and limited institutional representation.

CWEEI has been created to bridge these gaps.

CWEEI, a National Confederation, brings together women entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, professionals, associations, community networks, mentors, institutions, industry partners, financial institutions, academic institutions and other stakeholders under one shared purpose—to strengthen women's entrepreneurship, financial empowerment and inclusion, leadership, economic participation and ownership across India.

What differentiates CWEEI is that financial empowerment and inclusion are not supporting activities—they are the core outcomes we seek to create. Entrepreneurship, skilling, mentorship, market access and leadership development are all pathways towards enabling women to build independent income, financial confidence, access to formal finance, enterprise ownership, assets and long-term economic security.

Our aim is not merely to create another organisation or another networking platform for women who are already established in business. CWEEI seeks to identify, enable, connect and develop women at every stage of their economic journey—from a woman possessing a skill but without a sustainable income, to an aspiring entrepreneur, self-employed woman, first-generation founder, startup entrepreneur, professional or established business owner.

A defining focus of CWEEI is Emerging India and communities beyond the traditional metropolitan business ecosystem. We seek to expand opportunities particularly for women from urban, semi urban, rural and tribal regions, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, underserved communities and economically weaker sections, while simultaneously connecting them with national and international markets, institutions, finance, technology, mentorship and business opportunities.

Our vision is to build a connected ecosystem where women can move:

  • From skill to livelihood,
  • From livelihood to enterprise
  • From aspiration to ownership
  • From financial dependency to financial inclusion and independence
  • From limited market access to wider economic opportunity
  • From participation to leadership and representation

CWEEI is also designed as a ground-up national platform. Through community, village, block/taluk, city, district, state and national-level engagement, the Confederation aims to create a bridge between grassroots women and the larger economic ecosystem. This enables local aspirations and challenges to connect with training, finance, markets, technology, industry, institutions and policy representation at higher levels.

Another important differentiator is that CWEEI intends to combine implementation with representation. It is not envisioned merely as a networking chamber, training institution or advocacy platform in isolation. The CWEEI ecosystem brings together skill development, entrepreneurship development, financial literacy, access to credit and investment, startup incubation, mentorship, digital empowerment, market linkages, employment and livelihood creation, leadership development, research, policy advocacy and institutional collaboration.

CWEEI also recognises that meaningful change requires collective strength without loss of individual identity. Every entrepreneur, association, community organisation, mentor, institution and partner brings unique experience, credibility and strengths. As a Confederation, CWEEI seeks to bring these strengths together without absorbing or diminishing the independence of participating organisations, creating a larger national platform for collaboration, opportunity, shared learning and representation.

At its core, CWEEI seeks to create first-generation entrepreneurs, financially independent women and future women leaders, including those who may not currently have access to established business networks, capital, institutional support or traditional industry chambers.

CWEEI is therefore not merely a network for women entrepreneurs. It is a national ecosystem designed to create, enable and scale women entrepreneurs and economically independent women from Emerging India.

I therefore invite women entrepreneurs, aspiring founders, professionals, mentors, business associations, community organisations, corporates, financial institutions, academic institutions, industry bodies and development organisations to become part of CWEEI and collectively build a stronger, more inclusive and financially empowered generation of women across India.
